Camp Memories is a bereavement program offered to children ages 6-18 who have experienced the death of a family member or loved one. The day-long camp includes fun, confidence-building activities, and age-based support groups for children who are grieving.
Camp Memories is facilitated by grief professionals and trained volunteers and includes activities, grief education, and emotional support. The camp breaks the emotional isolation grief often brings, because children are comforted knowing there are peers who have had similar grief and loss experiences and feelings. Campers have an opportunity to tell their story, express their feelings, and memorialize their loved ones.
Children are provided with the tools and resources needed during and after camp, including memories and friendships that have the potential to last long after camp is complete.
