What the Catholic Diocese says about Youth First

“You make my heart feel good.”

“I would have committed suicide had it not been for having my Youth First Mental Health Professional there in my school my seventh grade year. Knowing that I had someone to go talk to, talk it out with, made all the difference in the world to me.”

“I feel it is vitally important to have availability and access to Youth First Mental Health Professionals in all the schools and as many programs as possible. It literally saved my daughter’s life and provided me with a sounding board and a helping hand during the rough patches when I didn’t know where to turn.”

“Students in elementary, middle and high schools are subject to many pressures and insecurities, sometimes without the support they need.  Youth First Mental Health Professionals are a critical resource that help many of these children make the right choices now that may affect the rest of their life path.”

“We place tremendous value on our partnership with Youth First. A Youth First Mental Health Professional provides important services to ensure students lead healthy lives. The organization is proactive by providing programs that strengthen families, encourage positive choices, and prevent substance abuse. Adolescence is a difficult time for many, and a Youth First Mental Health Professional works with students to overcome obstacles and challenges.”
